‘Upper may be a terrific International water sports activities venue’
BHOPAL: Better cleansing and improved infrastructure can turn Upper Lake into one of the first-class venues for water sports activities competitions around the globe, stated Csaba Szanto, technical expert of the International Canoe Federation (ICF), right here on Saturday. Szanto, a Hungarian countryman with more than five a long time devoted to the game of canoe dash, has coached a range of Olympians and beginners. He has contributed to the improvement of the canoe area throughout the globe. In Bhopal, to wait for the worldwide canoe championship at Upper Lake, Szanto liked the efforts of the championship organizers. “With limited resources, the organizers have given their time to conduct such a critical championship,” stated Szanto. However, he becomes worried about the great water for the championship.
“As far as the wind is concerned, there is no such problem at the venue. However, my situation is the nicest of water. This is not a massive problem, and by overcoming it, the venue can be converted into a worldwide one,” said Szanto. He said Bhopal can host even larger activities inside the destination. “I would really like to see Bhopal carrying out greater events in the future. It calls for the authority’s support, also. I am glad to see that the Indian Kayaking and Canoeing Association (IKCA) has performed a good activity in establishing the championship,” said Szanto.
About India’s presence on the global degree in kayaking and canoeing, Szanto said, “India is going top. Players have to do higher to make India’s presence felt in the global circuit. S…” As a professional competitor in Sprint Canoe for 15 years and a member of the Hungarian country-wide team for 10 years, Szanto has to his credit over a dozen national championships, numerous medals in international competitions, and a bronze medal at the World Championships. He trained the Hungarian national canoe group for seven years and coached the USA Olympic team for three years. Szanto has been related to ICF in diverse capacities since 1991 and has attended seven Olympic Games and 20 World Championships.
