Riverdale’s purple-warm rippers qualify for country wide rugby championships
Riverdale School will represent Manawatū at the New Zealand Ripper Rugby Championship. Riverdale had qualified for the countrywide tournament later when they ended College Street Normal School’s run of success. College Street won the closing 12 months countrywide identify and have been regulars in the country full finals in recent years. There have been 29 faculty members at the Manawatū event. Riverdale School Red beat College Street Normal School Black 4-three in the final of the Manawatū junior rippa rugby cup at the Arena, Palmerston North, on Wednesday.
Riverdale didn’t lose a sport in the match, while College Street Black’s most straightforward loss came in the very last. College Street gained the countrywide name closing year, so Riverdale will keep the trophy in Manawatū if they have won this 12 months. Riverdale went to the national championship in 2012. The Mark Donaldson Cup for intermediate colleges is on Thursday and has 20 entries, then the Sam Strahan Cup for faculty is on Friday, with six entries. The competitions are a part of the Manawatū Rugby Union’s ripper program, which has been running since the start of the college term.
