Minot, ND – A woman who fueled the birth of ladies’s sports at a nearby university is in our spotlight this night as we honor influential girls in our region.
Jim Olson introduces us to Kathy McCann, who helped crack the guys’s-simplest athletics membership at Minot State University.
It’s an excellent wall at Minot State University – acknowledging the ones who’ve excelled in athletics on the group.

Kathy McCann could not see why the woman college students in her PE instructions couldn’t compete on a college group.
(Kathy McCann) “We commenced with softball.”

(Kathy McCann) “I drove my vehicle – had a boyfriend then and took his automobile and my car and drove to Omaha – I got all the youngsters and myself in. I paid access prices and the youngsters offered their personal meals once they ate. That was simply outstanding.”
Before long, she become increasing ladies’s sports activities at the college.
